November 11, 2012 17:28:07Ada Zanditon, is a London based designer working with modern architectural forms. Her designs blend future fantasy with historical journeys to create an elegant, sculptural women’s wear collection. Silhouettes are strong, confident and geometric, featuring origami inspired engineered, and her signature digital prints. Zanditon is inspired by a scientific perspective on the environment, the process of evolution, and biomimicry; innovative creation through mimicking the natural world. Collections revolve around a unique conceptual narrative, creating entire story lines, with accompanying video look books, and with each dress within the collection named appropriately, with names like Miai Dress, Persephone and Pandora. Passionate about her work, Zanditon utilizes each collection, and the inspiration behind it, to bring awareness, through charitable support for conservation. Past beneficiaries, have been as diverse and eclectic as her inspiration, and include the Bat Conservation Trust and the Seahorse Trust.
Zanditon creates a high-end women’s wear collection with a common sense approach to sustainability, and a commitment to transparency, treating people, planet and profits with equal importance. Working with a wide range of organic and natural fabrications, as well as innovative waste reduction and energy conscious solutions to minimize her carbon footprint, and the negative impact on the environment. Zanditon sources textiles from ethical suppliers, with all fabrics dyed with AZO-free dyes, while small-scale manufacturing units are utilized for production in an effort to benefit small, independent, local businesses through building sustainable, long term relationships.
A graduate from the London College of Fashion, Zanditon made her London Fashion Week debut in September 2009 through Vauxhaull Fashion Scouts, as One to Watch, followed swiftly by Somerset house. Zanditon is also a recipient of the Masters of Linen Creativity Award, as well as a British Fashion Council’s Eco Fashion Mentorship Program, and was mentored by Bev Malik of Browns and Harvey Nichols fame. She is also the recipient of a wide range of other awards and opportunities.
