The sustainable design process at RANT means consideration for the entirety of the garment lifecycle, with care taken to minimize impact, and maximize longevity. All cutting and sewing is carried out within 30 kilometers of the RANT studio, keeping the carbon footprint low, and allowing complete oversight of the entire process. The studio itself is run by solar, generating 90% of their total power use, with the balance coming from a green supplier. Rainwater is used for prewashing RANT garments, significantly reducing water usage at the studio. Consideration is also given to consumer care, with all garments hand washable in cold water and able to be air-dried. All plastic bags are reused, fabric offcuts are upcycled and utilized in accessories or as mattress filling and school craft class donations. Finally, the collection is shipped in Kraft bags, not plastic.
