Dick Moby

Dick Moby sunglasses was started as an answer to plastic pollution in the oceans. As surfers, the founders had experienced plastic pollution first hand. As designers they are passionate about quality and sustainability, and wanted to make something positive as a means of addressing the plastic pollution problem. With a year of research and development, the brand finally settled on a bio-acetate.

The glasses are made form thermoplastic, which means that the fit and shape at the temples can be personalized by any local optician. The glasses are made from M49, a new innovative bio-acetate produced from renewable resources, instead of the usual oil based plastics. The brand use ZEISS premium lenses, for the best possible UV protection, and added anti scratch layer.

Partnering with the Surfrider Foundation, 10% of revenue will be donated to address plastic pollution, and create a brighter future for our oceans. The glasses shipping package, is designed to be used for their ongoing protection, not discarded. Currently at the fundraising stage, the glasses are priced between at $185 retail. Funding will pay for tooling and production, with the prototype stage already complete.
