Wool and the Gang
Wool and the Gang believe that clothing should be made unique with love. Their hand knit fashion is not mass-produced, but quality fashion, produced sustainably. The brand was born as a response to cheaply produced clothing that takes advantage of people and planet. Wool and the Gang was founded on fashion production that brings back sustainable knitting as a means of production. With the belief that there has to be a better way to produce, the brand make clothing that buyers can wear with pride.
Wool and the Gang’s hand knitted collection include sweaters, cardigans, wraps, scarves, hats, womenswear, menswear, children’s and baby clothing. The brand sell yarn, needles, patterns, and have built an entire cultural movement entitled “Gang Culture” that revolves around the maker movement, and inspires change through doing. The website incorporates video tutorials, blog posts, story telling, and shared experiences, as well as opportunities to share your own knit designs with the greater community, through Gang labs, and knitting parties. Growing the knitting revolution, Wool and the Gang involve all their makers in every step of their process from design and production through to skill sharing. The brands inclusive and democratic philosophy invites everyone to be a “gangsta” by purchasing a knitting kit, sharing, and buying other gangsta’s handmade pieces.
