Founder Elizabeth Roque recognized the potential, natural beauty and sustainability of the material, when on her annual family vacation to her childhood home of Portugal. A reflection of her love of her Portuguese heritage, the bags are brought to life with cork grown exclusively in Portugal. Bag details are inspired by the culture, and informed by her father, a cobbler by trade. Made by skilled artisans, daily production is overseen by her father, now 70 years of age, who ensures the quality of workmanship.
