Feeas

Spanish wearable artist Remedios Vincent creates a collection of upcycled designs sourced from antique shops and flea markets. Working with items often more than a century old, Remedios’s interest is in giving new life to items that are no longer useful. Items retain an intrigue from days gone by, many with a sort of macabre, Gothic appeal. Items reimagined in an entirely different context. Remedios’s aspiration is not to embellish through her art, but instead to impart nostalgic dosages of memories, and dreams, as well as nightmares, paranoia, discomfort and doubt. Not intended as pieces of jewelry to beautify through use, but instead small objects of art, with a macabre appeal. Fragile relics from another time, now with an entirely different use.
