Shanghai based design team FINCH Designs, create a small collection of fun swimwear and accessories entirely out of recycled and organic materials, all designed in house. Launched in 2010 by two veteran designers, one from New York, and the other from New Delhi, the collection is ethically produced in China. The collection is based around their core values of original design, social and environmental responsibility and a desire to connect, grow and invigorate independent design communities in China. Dedicated to using the highest quality organic and sustainable fibers available, FINCH focuses on fashion with a conscience. Producing the collection with manufacturing partners that share their concern for the environment, fair labor practices, and a high standard of workmanship.
After a 22 combined years of observing the waste in the mainstream fashion industry, partners Itee Soni and Heather Kaye finally decided they’d seen enough, and started their own company. FINCH Designs embrace the never-ending challenge of producing sustainable apparel with as little waste and environmental degradation as possible. They maintain complete control of the fabrics they use, which factories produce their garments, the dyestuff their textile mills use, and even how they package and deliver their product. Working tirelessly to clean up the fashion supply chain, Soni and Kaye work to create long-lasting, seasonless products, and are proud to be the first 100% organic and sustainable women’s apparel brand designed and manufactured in China.
