Pants To Poverty

Inspired by Nelson Mandela’s speech in Trafalgar Square in 2005, calling for a generation to rise up and Make Poverty History, Pants to Poverty, aims to do just that. The enormous need for change established the brand as part of a global campaign that echoed around the world the same year as the Live8 concerts. Pants To Poverty are proving that doing something to change the world can be easy, fun and even sexy! The fun, playful underwear basics are fairly traded and made from organic cotton.

5 years since their establishment, their underwear sells in over 20 countries around the world, supporting over 5000 farmers in India, and forcing one of the world’s most powerful companies to pull a killer pesticide off the market within a week of launch. Using the double entendre of English colloquialism of pants meaning underwear as well as slang for terrible, the brand are saying that poverty is terrible through their very name.
