Sofia Retro Bazar is a beautiful, ethereal collection of whimsical lingerie, entirely constructed from vintage silk scarves. The collection is romantic and unstructured in style with pretty, fluted and gathered bra’s and bikini bottoms. The silk scarf prints range from small animal depictions to pretty and bold florals. Perhaps the vintage prints gives this pretty lingerie collection a dark rock and roll vibe not immediately discernable, as if the floral blooms depicted on the silk prints is somehow poisoned.
The collection also includes a range of short, seductive kimono wraps, a swimwear line, and a range of purses, satchels and bags, all made from the same beautiful, high quality vintage scarves. The scarves themselves are selected from classic 1960’s and 1970’s prints, all original, distinctive and unique. The brand and the heritage of the materials is 100% Italian, and are entirely hand made for pure silk and organza. Each unique item is numbered, and designed to appeal to a customer who enjoys craftsmanship, detail, and is concerned with eco sustainability.
Sofia Retro Bazaar also produce a Plexy Couture collection of recycled plexiglass jewelry. Sourcing from discontinued companies from factories, to furniture stores, they hand select and recover unsold stock. Refinishing, replenishing and recutting their limited series of art noveau and art deco inspired collection. The two lines influence one with the other, between contemporary and past.
