Fashion Revolution USA

FashionRevolution

Today, 1st January 2014 sees the official launch of Fashion Revolution Day build up, a worldwide movement demanding fair treatment of workers in the garment industry the world over. One year on from the horrific disaster at Rana Plaza, the 24th April will see the culmination of the campaign to honor those that lost their lives, and in an effort to create justice and transparency in the global fashion supply chain.

FashionRevolution1Major high street retailers continue to supply cheap, throwaway fashion, which is directly responsible for the exploitation of millions of garment workers worldwide. Through education of the true cost of fast fashion in terms of human rights, Fashion Revolution Day will use fashion as the medium for positive change. In commemoration of those that lost their lives on the first anniversary of the building collapse in Bangladesh, people from all walks of life will be called upon to wear an item of clothing #insideout, share their photo on your social networks and ask the question, Who Made Your Clothes?

Be part of the revolution, follow the campaign on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/FashionRevolutionDayUSA and Tweet your support on @Fash_RevUSA and lets start asking the right questions.
