The Skunkfunk womenswear brand are committed to sustainability. The brands focus is respect for the environment and to the people that make their clothing. Emerging from Basque country, they combine unconventional urban fashion with an environmentally conscious drive. The collection fuses the clean lines of geometry with striking contrasts, and draws inspiration from contemporary art and urban lifestyles. It is made predominately from organic cotton, recycled polyester, lyocell and linen. Skunkfunk also produce a zero waste capsule collection, that utilizes every single inch of fabric that goes into its manufacture, and as the name suggests, reduces textile waste to zero.

Founded in the mid 90’s with the simple beginnings of a T-shirt line, which was sourced, manufactured and distributed in local Basque country, the project has grown to representation in over 40 countries around the world. Their creative roots were formed at international festivals, fairs and shops. Despite their growth, the brand maintain a transparent supply chain that extends to farmers, spinners, weavers, knitters, finishers, printers, manufacturers, packers and shippers, allowing them to continually assess their social and environmental impact.

Skunkfunk is aiming for 100% environmentally friendly fibers with either GOTS or CCS certification, from crop to fabric, to finished garment, and from environmental to social criteria. Committed to improving the social conditions of the factories in which they produce their collections, they regularly visit their suppliers, and maintain direct contact on an ongoing basis. Most suppliers are required to hold a social certification, and where they don’t, they work alongside them to gain it.
