Injiri

Injiri is a clothing and home textiles brand inspired by, as well as handcrafted in India. Drawing inspiration from India’s textile traditions including hand-woven khadi, jamdani and ikat, Injiri creates a collection of contemporary womenswear, inspired by traditional styling.

Injiri

The bohemian garments honor the hand woven traditions of the region, with simple loose fitting styling based on the dress styles from rural India, layered for maximum effect, with a cacophony of traditional patterns, prints, stripes and checks. The color palette revolves around crisp white, black, and shades of indigo, highlighted by brilliant scarlet.

Injir Asmaani Collection

Based in Jaipur, Injiri revel in traditional textile designs such as contrasting “kor”, or borders of varying stripes, and “kanni’, contrasting selvedges. Each item is hand crafted by skilled artisans from across India, including traditional spinners, dyers, weavers and tailors, passing through many hands before the final item is complete. Relying heavily on the processes of traditional textiles, the collection celebrates detailed finishing and hand weaving.

Injiri Kinari Collection

Founder and designer Chinar Farooqui is passionate about her study of traditional textiles and dress, as well as the stories behind them. With a BA in Fine Arts, and a Masters in Textile Design, Chinar’s work is heavily influenced by her childhood memories of Rajasthan, and her mothers collection of local indigo dyed fabric.
